The new 2021 IKEA catalog is finally here!

We’re sure you’ve been anxiously awaiting its arrival — as IKEA fans ourselves, we have too. Now that the 2021 IKEA catalog is here, it’s a perfect time to find a good half hour, make yourself a nice cup of coffee and enjoy the catalog page by page.

We promise you won’t be disappointed in any of IKEA’s new products.

With that in mind, our kitchen designers have put together a list of our favorite new items from the 2021 IKEA catalog. These include new offerings in IKEA appliances; door styles; accessories, and even rolling carts.

These are assured to give your upcoming IKEA kitchen design a boost whether it’s a modern, traditional or transitional kitchen design.

So you’ll not only have a detailed list of designer top picks of IKEA’s new products for 2021, but plenty of design inspiration too.

Out With the Old, In With the 2021 IKEA catalog

According to IKD designer Florence, the new IKEA appliance offerings are a nicer, modern version of what they had before.

“I’m happy to see they’ve finally included a black stainless-steel option for most of them” she says. “My personal favorite is a black stainless steel combo you can use in your next IKEA kitchen, including the IKEA BRÄNNPUNKT 5-burner gas cooktop in Black.”

Other highlights of the new IKEA appliance offerings include the:

• IKEA ADRÄTT wall oven in Black with true convection and self-cleaning options;
• IKEA ESSENTIEL stainless steel built-in dishwasher in Black;
• IKEA STJÄRNSTATUS French Door stainless steel refrigerator in Black;
• IKEA VINSTGIVANDE wall mounted range hood in Black;
• IKEA HUVUDSAKLIG built-in stainless steel microwave in Black.

New IKEA Doorstyles

IKEA offers a wide variety of door styles that fit any home décor, and they do a very good job in keeping a nice range of styles and colors.

“There are quite a few door styles that have been introduced this year, that in my opinion, have been a total hit” says IKD designer Merari.

Which ones are those?

Let’s start with the IKEA AXSTAD in Matte Blue which offers a warm, classic tone; the timeless IKEA LERHYTTAN in Light Gray; and the warm IKEA ASKERSUND in Dark Brown Ash effect.

Also check out the IKEA SKÖVDE glass door in dark bronze effect which would be ideal for any transitional IKEA kitchen design.

Merari points out that these are door styles and colors that provide a wide range of options for customers who, for example, were looking for custom doors in order to find a blue shaker door.

Clever IKEA, very clever!

It’s All In the Details

The IKEA 2021 catalog helps us remember that it’s all in the details, and that there are accessories available like wall shelves, rails and inserts that will truly complement your new IKEA kitchen.

IKD designer Mike says the IKEA BOTKYRKA wall shelf in White is one such option with its sleek, ergonomic design; or the simplicity of the IKEA LISABO wall shelf in Ash Veneer that will help you maximize your space while keeping an open feel to it.

“Another all-time favorite of mine is the IKEA KUNGSFORS suspension rail,” he says. “It’s versatile and helps you keep things at hand. You can mix and match it with shelves, hooks, containers, racks, and more!”

And last but not least, the IKEA SATSUMAS plant stand in Bamboo White has shelves at different levels so you can put your herbs on display and add warmth to the space as well.

Set Your Storage to Roll

Roll out carts are also a favorite, especially for small kitchens, or simply to conveniently keep your items and roll them around as needed.

IKD designer Meyer (https://inspiredkitchendesign.com/team-meyer/) explains: “There are many IKEA carts, but my favorites are two that would match any style!”

Specifically, he points to the IKEA KUNGSFORS stainless steel cart and the IKEA RÅSKOG utility cart (which comes in white, black and gray-green) and which really reflects IKEA’s design adaptability that its known for.

Rolling carts, in particular, can really be a great addition to any IKEA kitchen design. They offer additional storage options and flexibility, perfect for making your IKEA kitchen not only functional, but fun as well. Think about using it as a beverage cart or to hold baking supplies that can be neatly stored and rolled out when needed.
